Spring Livestock Tour 2024

This year, our Spring Tour is tentatively scheduled for May. We are planning to visit Central Oregon. More detail to come.

The Lane County Livestock members take a road tour to a cattle producing part of the state. The leaders arrange in advance for the group to see various livestock operations in the area. The tour typically starts Friday afternoon and ends Sunday. Typically the leaders have scouted and found local motels and like for people to rent and there are one or two group dinners or lunches during the tour. The Lane County group is always very welcome in a community and the group gets to see things that are not usually open to public. There is lots of beautiful scenery on these tours.

Arrangements start early in the year and all the arrangements are made by email.

Annual LCLA Picnic

The LCLA Annual Picnic will be held annually in August at Sly Farms in Creswell.

Youth Producer of the Year Application

The Lane County Livestock Association (LCLA) is pleased to honor a youth, 21 years and under, who is producing livestock (cattle, sheep, goats, and/or pigs) to be sold on the open market, shown at county/state fairs, entered in open competitions, or some other similar event. The livestock produced by the youth may be animals bought from another producer or raised from birth. The winner of this award will be recognized at the annual LCLA banquet. The winner will receive a plaque or banner, an embroidered coat, a free year membership to LCLA, and a gift certificate from our sponsor(s). Candidate must be present at the annual LCLA banquet to win.

If you are interested in applying for this award, please read carefully the following information and complete the attached application form. Remember that you are entering a competition and your application will be carefully compared to all the other applications by a committee of evaluators appointed by the LCLA board. You want to complete the application as best you can; be careful of spelling and grammar. Your application must be done by you personally. If you are selected as one of the top three applicants you may be interviewed by the selection committee.
